Putin congratulated medical workers on their professional holiday
Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated medical workers on their professional holiday and quoted writer Anton Chekhov. The text of the head of state’s address was published on website Kremlin.
The Russian leader said that Medical Worker’s Day is more than a professional holiday, as it is relevant to every resident of the country. Doctors are with a person from the moment of his birth, Putin said.
“I would like to emphasize that the Russian healthcare system, with its traditions and values, has high authority in the world and is actively developing every year,” he said.
Putin added that in the medical community, mercy and compassion go hand in hand with knowledge and responsibility. “It is very important that medical universities and colleges pay attention to instilling devotion to their chosen profession, so that graduates are prepared for the fact that their work, as Anton Pavlovich Chekhov wrote, is a “daily test of humanity,” the president noted.
Earlier, Putin congratulated his fellow citizens on Eid al-Adha. The congratulation states that Russian Muslims contribute to the unity of the peoples of the country. In addition, the Russian leader emphasized that this holiday serves the unity of people and reveals the spiritual values of Islam.
