Putin supported the return to indexation of pensions for working pensioners
Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the return to indexation of pensions for working pensioners. The words of the head of state are quoted RIA News.
The law on the abolition of indexations has been in force in Russia since 2016. Initially, the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov made a proposal to return to indexation of social payments for this category of citizens. Putin considered such an initiative necessary. “We must make this decision,” said the Russian President.
Putin added that he would announce the return of indexation of pensions to working pensioners during his speech at the SPIEF plenary session. “Perhaps I’ll say this right now at the forum,” the head of state concluded.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Finance (Ministry of Finance) Anton Siluanov announced the indexation of pensions for military pensioners by 5.1 percent from October 1, 2024. Before this, it was assumed that social payments for this category of citizens would be increased by 4.5 percent. The change occurred against the backdrop of an updated inflation forecast.
