Kjeld Nuis will defend his Olympic title in the 1500 meters at the Beijing Olympics today. It is the only chance of gold for the 32-year-old South Hollander, who starts in stage 11 against South Korean Kim Min-seok. From 11.30 am Dutch time, the 1500 meters will be ridden in the National Speed Skating Oval.
In addition to Nuis, reigning world champion Thomas Krol and Marcel Bosker also compete in the 1500 meters. Krol will compete in stage 10 against the Norwegian Peder Kongshaug and Bosker already has to compete in stage 4 against Cornelius Kersten from Great Britain. View the full draw here.
