The president of the United States, Joe Biden, approved this Friday the disbursement of up to 350 million dollars in new military aid to Ukraine in full invasion by Russia, as announced by the White House.

In a memo, Biden authorized the State Department to direct up to $250 million in general aid to Ukraine and up to $350 million for “defense items and services,” including military education and training.
The announcement came after the US president had a 40-minute telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodimir Zelensky, on Friday to discuss military aid and sanctions.

Although the White House did not disclose the content of the conversation, Zelensky said on Twitter that he had spoken with Biden about “strengthening sanctions,” “concrete defense assistance” and “an anti-war coalition.”
“Grateful to the United States for the strong support for Ukraine,” added the Ukrainian leader.

In reaction to the Russian attack, Biden has hit Russia with sanctions on its banks and its elite, as well as restrictions on high-tech exports to Russia.among other measures, to which were added economic punishments against the president, Vladimir Putin, and several figures in his government.

In addition, it has sent thousands of soldiers to Europe to reinforce the eastern flank of NATO in the face of the possibility that the conflict goes beyond the borders of Ukraine, which is not a member of the Alliance.
