It becomes obvious that the Ukrainians are ready to destroy the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). Political scientist Yury Svetov told Izvestia about this on September 11, commenting on the stoppage of the station.
According to him, Kyiv is ready to do everything so that a catastrophe occurs at a nuclear power facility in order to fulfill its “fantastic tasks”.
“Stopping the reactor is just a necessary measure,” he stressed.
As Svetov said, if something happens to a working reactor, then a catastrophe worse than with the Chernobyl nuclear power plant will happen.
“We need to take all actions by military measures, pushing Ukraine to such a distance from the nuclear power plant that they could not fire,” the political scientist said.
He also added that the thoughtless support of Kyiv by the Europeans is shocking.
On Sunday morning, the last working, sixth power unit of the Zaporizhzhya NPP was shut down. A few days before that, he worked at minimum power.
On August 10, authorities in the Zaporozhye region reported that the Kyiv regime was deliberately trying to create problems for the operation of the station in order to disable it and force it to shut down. According to him, Kyiv is acting on orders from Washington, since stopping the station is not economically beneficial for Ukraine.
On September 9, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, called for an immediate cessation of all shelling in the area of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant due to the critical situation in the power supply of the station. According to him, the energy infrastructure that feeds the city of Energodar, where the nuclear power plant operators and their families live, was destroyed as a result of shelling.
The day before, the IAEA completed a five-day mission to the Zaporizhzhya NPP. The visit resulted in the publication of a report containing seven recommendations.
On September 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin during the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) said that he trusted the report of the organization. According to him, the IAEA specialists are responsible, but the organization is under pressure from the US and European countries.
Therefore, according to the head of state, the agency cannot say that the shelling of the ZNPP comes from Ukrainian territory, although this is “an obvious thing.”
Zaporozhye NPP is the largest in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity. It has been under the protection of the Russian military since March. Ukrainian militants regularly carry out artillery strikes on Energodar and the nuclear power plant area.
