Thanks to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the total number of Pokémon has exceeded 1,000 specimens in total. To celebrate this milestone, The Pokémon Company today released a trailer which pays homage to each of the 1,008 Pokédex creatures, ever since it first appeared in the Blue and Red games in the late 1990s. The video reveals, or rather confirms, who is the Pokémon #1,000 of the Pokédex: it’s about Gholdengo, which today received an exhaustive presentation from The Pokémon Company.
Gimmighoul evolves into gholdengo when he levels up after his Trainer has collected 999 Gimmighoul Coins. According to shared details, Gholdengo is a lively and cheerful Pokémon whose body is made up of a thousand coins. He moves by controlling these coins and also uses them as weapons in battles. The coins are stacked compactly, making the Pokémon very sturdy. Gholdengo can attack by throwing them from anywhere on its body.
- Name: Gholdengo
- Category: Pokémon Treasure
- Type: Steel/Spectrum
- Height: 1.2m

The footage in general is a tribute to the entire series and the players, with numerous gameplay sequences taken from each of the chapters released from 1998 to today. We ask you the same question that appears at the end of the video: Have you caught all 1,008 Pokémon discovered so far?
