Nuevo Laredo.- This afternoon, as announced by Femsa, the OXXO stores opened their doors, which had been closed for nine days due to insecurity in Nuevo Laredo.
Also, OXXO-Gas gas stations, which also closed on Wednesday, July 24, are expected to begin operating in the next few hours.
The opening comes after reaching agreements with local and federal authorities, according to Femsa’s announcement this afternoon.
In a statement, the company described the points agreed with the authorities to resume the operation of its 191 closed branches as consisting of constant police patrols in its stores and gas stations to ensure a safe environment for its employees and customers.
Also the installation of a panic button in their units, which must be connected to C5 for immediate attention in the event of any emergency.
In addition to the installation of permanent working tables with state and federal authorities.
Femsa stressed that the necessary conditions exist under these agreements to safely resume operations.
“Our stores and stations will reopen in a phased manner this Friday, August 2. We will operate at our usual hours, as established by current regulations,” the company said.
Femsa acknowledged and expressed its gratitude for the follow-up carried out by the authorities regarding the complaint filed, which it said is still ongoing.
