Bose Ultra Open Earbuds: The speaker floats above the ear canal.

Over-ear headphones sit on the ear and leave the ear canal exposed. This way you can keep up with what's going on in the area. Two devices from Soundcore and Bose in comparison.
WWe reported in January: In-ear earphones seal the ear canal and thus ensure great sound because outside interference is kept away from the eardrum. But the plastic in the ear canal can cause skin reactions and allergies; it creates an unnatural microclimate, especially when worn for long periods of time, which can be a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi.
An alternative is to choose earphones without physical contact with the ear canal. They also offer the advantage that the ears remain free to perceive ambient noise, which is exactly the opposite of noise-reducing earplugs. For example, the jogger can hear the car approaching, and the racing cyclist can use the headset to make a phone call and still react to the siren of the approaching fire truck. So far, bone conduction headphones, which transmit sound via the bones in the upper cheek and jaw, have dominated this segment. The technology works well, but the musical brilliance falls by the wayside.
