Heads of State of the 2 countries were not called, but the United Kingdom invited ambassadors
Ambassadors from North Korea and Nicaragua were invited by the United Kingdom to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, to be held on 19 November. Only embassy representatives received the invitation, which does not include the heads of state of these countries.
Syria, Venezuela and Afghanistan did not have this diplomatic nod. The same goes for Russia, Belarus and Myanmar, with which the UK has a strained relationship.
About 500 state representatives are expected to attend the ceremony.
The White House has confirmed that President Joe Biden will appear with First Lady Jill Biden. Jair Bolsonaro will also go to the United Kingdom to pay tribute to Elizabeth II. Leaders from all over commonwealth must participate.
As per the Queen’s funeral schedule, the coffin remains in Westminster Hall until Monday morning (September 19), the day of the State Funeral Ceremony. The public will be able to pay their respects from 5 pm on this Wednesday (September 14), local time.
Since the death of Queen Elizabeth II, last Thursday (8.Sep.2022), the British royal family began a long ceremonial to honor the monarch. Events will culminate in the funeral.
The organization of the ceremonial was named “London Bridge Operation”. It had been discussed by those involved for years, including the queen herself.
