England’s Newcastle continues to fight to have Colombian striker Duván Zapata as their star weapon of attack. Atalanta, the player’s current team, initially rejected a €30 million offer for the player’s transfer.
The response of the Italians generated a counteroffer and now there is 40 million of the European currency to sign the player born in Padilla (Cauca).
This was reported by the Italian page Calciomercato, specialized in issues related to transfers.
If the transfer is finalized, this would be the second highest after the one made with Joelinton, who arrived in the 2019/2020 season from Hoffenheim to Newcastle for €44 million.
To the offer of the English is added the interest of several squads in Italy. Inter, Juventus and Milan have shown interest in taking it to their awnings.
Newcastle, the club that signed Faustinbo Asprilla in 1996, is currently the richest team in the world, after being acquired by the Public Investment Fund group, which has a great relationship with Saudi Arabia.
Expectation for the possible arrival of Zapata
Interest in the Colombian attacker is growing daily, despite the arrival of Chris Wood, who recently arrived from Burnley for 28 million of pounds.
In the English media there is also a lot of attention about what may happen to Duván Zapata, who has already been described as “a talented beast.”
“He can play as a target man, but also he’s fantastic around the box.”
