Milan-Juventus – Locatelli, Szczesny, Kean-Thiaw and Allegri. Thus the Lady wins San Siro
The night of Manuel Locatelli seven years later (and with the links reversed), Szczesny’s magical save that chokes the liberating cry of the net in Giroud’s throat, Kean good at putting Thiaw out of the game giving numerical superiority to his team: three flashbacks, sliding doors on the night at San Siro which brought victory to the path of Juventus Torino. Milan-Juventus, however, has a fourth key: Allegri vs Pioli. And here the challenge is won by Max this time.
Milan-Juventus, Allegri show: adrenaline and perfect tactical management, Max checksmate Pioli’s Devil
Max Allegri’s show in the final minutes of the match is adrenaline-filled: he screams, he waves his arms, he kicks the bottle, he takes off his jacket and tie. The spotlights and the eyes of the 70,000-odd people at the Meazza (sold out) suddenly all move to the pitchside area: the Juventus coach calls on the team to manage the ball better, he wants more concentration and clarity.

A reaction that at first superficial glance might seem almost exaggerated given that his players have gradually become masters of the pitch as the minutes have passed, gaining more and more confidence and courage while Milan is slowly falling apart in front of them and it seems have the strength to find a burst of energy that leads to a final attack. In reality it is a masterpiece by Max: by doing so he keeps the tension of his troop high when the finish line is close but not yet reached, transmits energy and courage to the players. Mission accomplished.
With the Juventus Curva observing from the third tier of San Siro, he appreciates and also dedicates a chorus full of love to him (“Allegri uno di noi”).
“We’re happy with the victory, but we should have managed ball possession better. I got very angry because we can’t always risk counterattacks due to our mistakes. I congratulate Milan, it was a balanced match. Scudetto? Calm down, we’re enjoying the victory, not the ranking counts”, Max said to Sky at the end of the match.

Milan-Juventus report cards: Locatelli-Szczesny MVP. Krunic and Thiaw what a disaster
Did anyone turn up their noses by pointing out that his Juve, despite having numerical superiority for a significant portion of the match (from the 40th minute of the first half), did not sink the knife into Milan’s defense? Mistake. The truth is another. The Lady plays an almost perfect defensive game: just a thrill for Szczesny which neutralizes Giroud’s low shot and little else. Leao, the number one public danger of all the defenses in Serie A, runs and jumps the man, but all in all he is somehow contained (of course Gatti spends 5 fouls to contain Rafa, with a yellow card arriving in the 71st minute: “There is the regulation that says that if you commit repeated fouls, then there is a warning. It seems to me that this is the case, at least. Did he get it? Yes but late”, Stefano Pioli’s words at the end of the match). Then, after Locatelli’s perhaps lucky goal (Krunic’s deflection was decisive), the Devil created little, while the Bianconeri had two or three interesting situations to find the 2-0 (saving an excellent Mirante).
Milan-Juventus, the extenuating circumstances for Pioli’s Devil (absences of Theo-Loftus Cheek, Thiaw expulsion) and changes during the match in progress
Allegri wins, having lost the two matches against Stefano Pioli last season. While the Milan coach relives a difficult start for his team after the break: against Inter it went very badly, this time it was a tough defeat, but with some evident mitigating. Starting with the heavy absences: the lack of Theo Hernandez and Loftus Cheek it was felt quite a bit against a team that has as much leg and running as Juve. And in any case, until Thiaw’s mistake which left the team with 10 men, the Rossoneri were in control and masters of the pitch.
Not only. All in all they showed themselves good at keeping control of the game even in the minutes following the direct red card waved by referee Mariano to the German defender. Until the changes. Not Pulisic-Kalulu (logical replacement), but those in the 60th: with Rade Krunic replaces Yacine Adli Milan lost quality in the middle of the pitch without finding the dynamism that one could hope would come from the Bosnian player (returning after a month’s break). The Giroud-Jovic substitution doesn’t pay either: Olivier not brilliant (and only one goal from open play so far in the league, as well as 3 from penalties), but author of the only flash towards Juve’s goal in the first half, the former Viola never incisive and capable of creating problems for the defense opponent (in its partial defense it must be said that the team created little). Then in the final (at the 79th) the change of desperation to try to give a shock: an attacking player (Luka Romero) was added for a midfielder (Reijnders, the Dutchman dull and subdued in the second half), but Juve became even more dominant in the middle of the pitch and suffered little or nothing. Pioli’s choices during the game do not therefore bring the desired results. Things that can happen in situations and matches that live on very delicate balances.
However, the disappointment remains for the defeat and the ranking which sees Juve falling in the wake of Milan (-1), with Inter counter-overtaking (+1).
But there’s no time to cry over spilled milk: Psg and then Napoli, Milan’s week between the Champions League and Serie A leads to two other great big matches. The defeat against Juventus is already in the past.
