First lady Michelle Bolsonaro, who has an extensive agenda in the state of São Paulo with Christians, was slated to contain female rejection of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and to maintain dialogue with evangelicals, this Wednesday (19), used the altar at the first event of the day to criticize former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). According to the president’s wife, Lula is trying to return to power with “thirst for revenge, blood in his eyes”.
According to Michelle, Lula would have a “list” of those who “rose against him” to arrest them. “We as Christians know that we are not fighting men and women, we are fighting principalities and powers of darkness,” she said.
“We are here to fight for our Brazilian nation, we are here to fight for our Brazil, so that this cancer, this party of darkness dissipates, leaves our nation”, he continued about the opponents, saying that the campaign is a fight for “freedom of expression and religious freedom”, repeating that leftist parties aim to undermine the performance of churches in the country.
To the electorate, Michelle also returned to defend her husband and his habits. “Bolsonaro is as imperfect as you and I are, but you can be sure he is a God-fearing, patriotic man,” she said. Regarding the habits of the chief executive, seen with bad eyes by the electorate, such as swearing, the first lady said that she “scolds” Bolsonaro, but that he is a man from another generation. “I fight, but it’s his way, he’s a different generation, he’s 67 years old,” she said.
Michelle then called for Christians to be “vote multipliers”, stepping out of their “comfort zone” to get votes for the president.
Elected senator Damares Alves (Republicans) also spoke at the event. The senator, who served as Minister of Women, Family and Human Rights, focused her speech on criticism against opponents defending the flexibilization of abortion and drug liberation.
