They appeared on social media some images without camouflage or coverings of the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, the electric coupe of the House of the Trident. The car, of a very particular color tending to the Sienna, was traced to Pebble Beach. It could be the signal of an official presentation during the famous Concorso d’Eleganza, which will take place from 18 to 21 August.
The car could have a power higher than 1000 horses (there is even talk of 1200), with top speed over 300 per hour and the classic burning acceleration due to the electric torque. Could it be, as Maserati says, the fastest electric coupe in the world? In the meantime, we will have to appreciate the style, which judging from the images will not deviate from the specially ‘obscured’ lines published in the past by the Italian brand. Particularly noticeable are the air intakes at the bottom of the front, just below the headlights. The front grille remains impressive.
The car should weigh approx 175 kilograms more compared to its endothermic counterpart, which mounts a V6. There will be no manual gearbox available. The GranTurismo Folgore will be produced at the Mirafiori production center and will debut on the market in 2023. Maserati had promised that the car would offer “avant-garde technical solutions derived from Formula E, outstanding performance, comfort and elegance typical of the Trident“.
