The Weekly Consumer Price Index (IPC-S), from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), decreased from 0.64% to 0.57% between the first and second four weeks of June. In the 12-month period, the variation went from 4.07% to 3.99% in the period.
In this reading, there was a slowdown in six of the eight expense classes that make up the indicator, with emphasis on Education, reading and recreation (0.47% to 0.07%), driven by air tickets (3.14% to 0.34% ).
Also decreasing were Transport (0.49% to 0.36%), Communication (0.43% to 0.32%), Housing (0.56% to 0.48%), Health and Personal Care (0.79% to 0.73%) and Clothing (-0.06% to -0.07%).
At the other end, there was an increase in Food (1.05% to 1.14%) and Miscellaneous expenses (0.38% to 0.51%).
Influences
The biggest downward influences on the IPC-S in the second four weeks of the month came from silver bananas (-10.56% to -8.96%); papaya papaya (-0.73% to -4.70%); pear orange (-6.08% to -6.02%); dwarf banana (-5.65% to -5.13%); black beans (-7.07% to -7.53%).
The biggest positive influences came from potatoes (24.79% to 25.35%); long-life milk (6.38% to 7.89%); water and sewage rate (2.28% to 2.17%); gasoline (0.94% to 0.76%); residential rent (1.35% to 0.93%).
