His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed the importance of adhering to national identity, considering it to be the true compass for Arab youth, without which balance would be disturbed and nations would lose their standing and path to progress. He stressed that national identity is the result of the history, achievements and culture of peoples, recalling the saying of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, “He who has no past has no present and no future,” which urges adherence to Arab identity and principles, while some promote new terms that are foreign to our societies and culture, and others call for complete and unconsidered openness to other cultures. This is completely inconsistent with the authentic Arab identity, principles and culture.
His Highness pointed out that young people learning from the lessons of the past and previous generations does not mean not keeping pace with the progress taking place around the world, and benefiting from modern technologies, including applications of artificial intelligence in various fields and sectors. His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, during his speech before the largest Arab youth media gathering, explained that youth represent half of the present and all of the future.
