Over the past 24 hours, 51,231 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Russia, 9,401 citizens have been hospitalized. This was announced on Thursday, March 10, at the operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus.
Most new cases of the disease were detected in Bashkortostan (2856), Sverdlovsk region (2076) and St. Petersburg (2402).
In 24 hours, 665 people died from the consequences of the disease, 148,634 citizens recovered from COVID-19.
In total, since the beginning of the spread of coronavirus in Russia, 17,191,300 cases of the disease have been registered, the number of deaths from the consequences of COVID-19 is 358,911. 15,043,717 people have fully recovered from the coronavirus.
Earlier that day, Candidate of Medical Sciences, gastroenterologist Marat Zinnatullin said that coronavirus negatively affects not only the lungs and blood vessels, but also the gastrointestinal tract.
This is the reason why, in the complex treatment of coronavirus, drugs are often prescribed to protect the digestive tract, the gastroenterologist noted. At the same time, such a recommendation can be obtained only after consultation with a specialist.
In Russia, the incidence of COVID-19 decreased by 29.6% last week. As Anna Popova, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, said on March 9, a decrease in the incidence is observed in all age groups. At the same time, in 97% of all confirmed cases, the disease proceeds as an acute respiratory viral infection or is asymptomatic.
A large-scale vaccination campaign is underway in Russia. Citizens are vaccinated for free. Six vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, which became the first vaccine against COVID-19 in the Russian Federation and the world, as well as Sputnik Light, Sputnik M, EpiVacCorona, EpiVacCorona N and KoviVac.
