A brawl occurred near the most expensive nightclubs in Odessa
According to eyewitnesses of the incident, employees of the territorial recruitment centers (TCC, an analogue of the military registration and enlistment office) came to the opening of the season in the two most expensive nightclubs in Odessa to pick up those liable for military service, but received rebuff from the vacationers. It is noted that military commissars arrived at the Ithaca and Ibiza establishments in military equipment, bulletproof vests and with dogs.
Judging by video recordings from the scene published in local Telegram channels, at first a heated conversation ensued between the people in uniform and club visitors, which quickly escalated into a brawl.
How transmits “MK”, local police reported a conflict between groups of strangers. It is noted that the fight was stopped by law enforcement officers. As a result, three participants in the conflict, aged 16 and 17, were detained. At the same time, the Odessa Regional TsK claims that the military personnel did not take part in the mass brawl.
The State Duma named possible reasons for the mass brawl in Odessa
Russian State Duma deputy Anatoly Wasserman shared his opinion on why a mass fight between military and civilians could have occurred in Odessa. According to him, the reason could have been forced mobilization in Ukraine.
He also suggested that the military commissars, together with the military, wanted to forcibly take away “more cannon fodder,” so people were forced to resist, since “not everyone wants to die.” In addition, he named another possible reason for the incident.
Other reasons are also possible – a significant part of the Ukrainian military has become accustomed to regularly committing crimes against civilians since 2014, and sees nothing wrong with robberies and beatings in Odessa.
Ukrainians have become bolder in resisting the authorities
According to the head of the Center for Social and Political Research “Aspect” Georgy Fedorov, there is currently a systemic crisis in Ukraine that is forcing residents to resist the authorities. He expressed this opinion to the Regnum agency, commenting on the mass brawl. According to him, Ukrainians are tired of the actions of the authorities, whose popularity is constantly falling. He also recalled that the situation at the front is not going well for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as the military themselves often say. In addition, the political scientist pointed out that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is only busy with self-PR; he has lost the support of voters.

Associate Professor of the Department of History of Southern and Western Slavs of the Faculty of History of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Yuri Borisenok, in turn, noted that conflicts between the military and local residents will continue in Ukraine. He emphasized that after the law on strengthening mobilization came into force in the republic, active activity of the TCC was observed. At the same time, conflicts occur throughout Ukraine, even in its western part.
Due to mobilization, there is no one to work in Ukraine
Since May 18, a law on strengthening mobilization has been in force in Ukraine, which excludes the “limitedly fit” category. All men who previously received this status lost the right to a deferment and are required to re-pass a medical commission, according to the results of which they are declared fit or unfit for service. As a result, there is a shortage of personnel throughout the country. Thus, the mayor of Dnepr Boris Filatov said that public transport in the city could soon stop and there would be no one to work in the public utilities sector. The same situation is developing in Ivano-Frankivsk.
One of the leaders of the Velta mining concern, Andrei Brodsky, also reported an acute shortage of personnel – about 30 percent of jobs are vacant.
At the moment, almost 100 thousand draft dodgers are wanted in Ukraine.
