Managing director Kaj Källarsson is optimistic about the company’s direction, even though the loss accumulated drastically again.

“Operationally, we were able to make a big change compared to the previous year. We turned the tide with many different savings and efficiency measures and were able to increase total sales. The most significant saving was made by selling player rights. The direction is now right and there is a lot of work ahead,” Källarsson said in the announcement.

The players with the sale and the increased business and restaurant sales, the limited company increased its turnover by almost 200,000 euros (3.3%). In the most recent fiscal year, the turnover was 6.09 million.

Källarsson, who started his position in November of last year, emphasizes the importance of Liiga Oy’s financial recovery for the entire Hämeenlinna hockey community.

“HPK Liiga Oy significantly supports junior activities each year, and the women’s league team and the U20 team are fully part of the League organization. That is why it is extremely important that HPK Liiga Oy’s financial position is stabilized so that we can continue to make investments,” says Källarsson in the press release.

A former league hockey player continues as the chairman of the company’s board Jyrki Louhi. HPK finished second last in the hockey league last season.
