The main Mega-Sena prize has been accumulated and the estimate for contest 2,712, which will be held this Saturday, the 13th, has risen to R$56 million. But, after all, how much does this value yield if invested in financial products such as Savings, CDI, LCI and LCA, DI Fund, CDB and pre-fixed CDB?
+Mega-Sena accumulates again and prize reaches R$56 million
At the request of Istoé Dinheiro, the CEO of Smart House Investments, André Colares, carried out a simulation showing how much an investment of the full value of the prize yields, considering the basic interest rate (Selic) of 10.75% per year.
The results indicate that the savings account, the most conservative and popular investment modality in the country, would achieve the lowest return, both in the short and long term: in one month, the investment would yield R$337.5 thousand a month to the lucky person. The value is tax-free.
On the other hand, the type of investment that would yield the most premium value is the Pre-Fixed CDB of 13.35% per year. According to Colares, in this type of contribution, the gross prize of the Mega-Sena to be drawn this Saturday would generate a monthly income of R$455.5 thousand. See the table below:

As can be seen in the simulation, the R$56 million drawn by Mega-Sena, if invested in LCI/LCA with 90% of the CDI, would yield the investor around R$426.8 thousand per month. This modality is exempt from income tax, just like savings. If 100% of the CDI were contributed to the DI Fund, the prize would generate a monthly income of R$367.5 thousand per month.
In the CDB 120% of the CDI, the gross R$56 million would yield, per month, around R$441 thousand.
In the direct pre-fixed Treasury (with liquidity for 2027), the value of the premium would yield something around R$357.9 thousand per month. In the pre-fixed Treasury due in 2031, the R$43 million from Mega-Sena invested in the modality would yield around R$387.9 thousand per month.
The Mega-Sena minimum bet costs R$5, and you have the right to choose six tens from 1 to 60. With the draw scheduled for 8pm this Saturday, the 13th, bettors have until 7pm today to make their game . It is worth mentioning that the chance of success for a bet with six tens is 50,063,860 for each one, according to Caixa Econômica Federal.
