A propaganda video published by Hamas itself over the weekend confirms what Israel has denounced since the beginning of the war: the use of civilian areas for terrorist attacks.
“These are the criteria that Hamas chose to establish rocket launch sites, anywhere: areas with civilians are preferred,” the Israeli army said in a post on the social network X.
On Saturday (15), the Palestinian group launched five projectiles at Israel from a humanitarian aid area in central Gaza. Two launches managed to reach neighboring territory and another three fell within the enclave, exposing the population residing in the Strip to risk of death.
The Israeli Army had already reported at the beginning of the month that Hamas filled some houses in Rafah, in the south of Gaza, with traps. The Defense Forces (FDI) released a video that shows how soldiers enter the house and come across large black cylinders in rooms, corridors and kitchens.
“This is a house in Rafah where Hamas laid a trap. It is just one of many examples in which Hamas entrenches itself in the population and civilian infrastructure. Hamas continues to prioritize its terrorism to the detriment of the security of the inhabitants of Gaza”, wrote the Army on social media showing images of operations in the Palestinian enclave.
This Sunday (17), the IDF announced tactical pauses in the south of the Gaza Strip between 8 am and 7 pm to allow the distribution of humanitarian aid in the area.
The decision was criticized by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and led to the dissolution of the war cabinet, information confirmed this Monday (17).
The closure of the war cabinet comes just a week after the leader of the National Unity party, retired general Benny Gantz, and his partner Gadi Eisenkot left the body due to their disagreements with Netanyahu.
