The Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, stated on Saturday, 25, that the government will intensify work on the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) in Rio Grande do Sul, a state devastated by floods.
During the inauguration of road works on the Presidente Dutra highway, in Guarulhos (SP), alongside President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, he also said that the Executive will start next month the reconstruction of the Caí river bridge, which was closed due to the heavy rains.
“This BR, the 116, was one of the most affected in RS by the heavy rains”, declared Renan, citing the highway inaugurated in Guarulhos. The minister said that there are now only four blocking points left on the part of the highway that crosses RS.
At the event, in addition to Lula and Renan, ministers Alexandre Padilha (Institutional Relations) and Paulo Teixeira (Agrarian Development) and federal deputies Alencar Santana Braga (PT-SP), pre-candidate for mayor of Guarulhos, and Jilmar Tatto were present. (PT-SP).
Alencar spoke in a campaign tone. “You are the president who came to the city of Guarulhos the most,” he stated, quoting Lula. “This is a commitment to our people”, he added. Renan Filho, in turn, praised the PT pre-candidate. “Alencar has been a warrior for this work, for President Lula’s government and for the growth of the city of Guarulhos,” said the minister.
