HJK and HIFK meet on Monday at Töölö’s Bolt Arena.
Helsinki the police estimate that the last Stadin Derby of the summer, or Veikkausliiga football match between HJK and HIFK, will cause a greater than usual threat of violence.
HJK, which is fighting for the championship, and HIFK, which is fighting against relegation, will meet at the Bolt Arena in Töölö on Monday at 18:00.
“Based on preliminary information from the police, the threat images related to the match are greater than usual. The police will be visibly and abundantly present at the game to ensure the peaceful passage of the evening”, the police announced on Friday.
“The police estimate that clashes between supporters may occur in connection with the match. For this reason, the police are also preparing for the event with more resources than usual.”
Chief Commissioner Jarmo Heinonen reminded in the announcement that the responsibility for the peaceful course of the event belongs to the organizing body.
“In the event of a problem, the police hope that the supporters follow the instructions and orders given by both the orderlies and the police,” Heinonen continued.
In addition, the police reminded that the match will cause congestion on Urheilukatu before and after the start of the game. The police communicates traffic problems in real time on Twitter.
