Flutter in talks to acquire Snaitech: £2bn deal with Sisal as key player
FlutterEntertainment is in advanced negotiations for the purchase of Snaitechone of the leading gaming companies in the Italian market. However, a formal agreement is not expected to be reached until at least next month.
The potential sale of Snaitech to Flutter – Sky News reports – could be worth around £2bn and would transform Playtech into a purely B2B company, potentially attracting the interest of new buyers. Led by Mor WeiserPlaytech has recently seen positive results thanks to the expansion of its B2B operations into the United States and theexcellent performance by Snaitech.
However, the company has been trying to restructure itself for several years. Playtech has in fact been at the centre of a series of failed acquisitions and other corporate events in recent years. In 2022, Playtech shareholders rejected a takeover bid from Aristocrat Entertainment, an Australian company. The following year, there were talks of a move to London-based 888 – now called Evoke – but that too fell through.
Instead, for Flutter, a deal would represent the latest phase in an ongoing corporate restructuring overseen by the CEO, Peter JacksonThe company recently moved its main listing in the United States and is building its international empire through acquisitions, with Snaitech as its latest major target.
