The overflowing of three rivers caused the main flooding problems between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning: the Gueule, the Magne and the Berwinne.
The Berwinne River broke its flood record, even surpassing the levels of the tragic floods that occurred in Belgium in the summer of 2021, which left 39 dead, according to the spokesman for the Walloon Public Service (SPW), Nicolas Yernaux.
