28-year-old Gaviria was ready for a new challenge. “I join a very prestigious team, which until now has been very focused on climbers,” he says. ,,The confidence in me as a sprinter gives me extra motivation to represent a team of this size. I will fight for victories.”
Gaviria has been cycling for UAE Emirates since 2019. He was not as successful there as before at Quick-Step, where he won two stages in the Tour de France and four stages of the Tour of Italy to his name.
Gaviria won two stages in the Tour of Oman this season. Movistar announced the arrival of Iván Romeo and Ruben Guerreiro earlier on Wednesday.
