Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he and his wife Emine had contracted the coronavirus. He wrote about this in his Twitteraccount on Saturday, February 5th.
“Today the result of our COVID-19 test that my wife and I did after mild symptoms [болезни]turned out to be positive,” Erdogan said.
He noted that he and his wife were diagnosed with the omicron strain of coronavirus, and the disease itself was mild. The Turkish leader stressed that he would continue to carry out his duties from home.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been previously reported to have tested positive for the coronavirus. He said that he feels good and appealed to all citizens to get vaccinated, as well as to get booster shots against COVID-19.
