Star newspaper: Erdogan arrived in Iran to meet with Putin
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan is visiting Iran to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the Turkish newspaper star.
“Erdogan was greeted at Mehrabad International Airport by Iranian Oil Minister Javad Ouji, General Manager of Protocol of the Presidential Office of Iran Reza Nagipour, Iranian Ambassador to Ankara Mohammed Ferazmend, Turkish Ambassador to Tehran Derya Ors, and embassy staff,” the newspaper writes.
Earlier it became known that Putin will hold bilateral talks with Erdogan during a visit to Iran, scheduled for July 18-19. Assistant to the Russian President Yuriy Ushakov said that at the meeting the leaders of the two countries are going to discuss the problem of exporting Ukrainian grain from the country.
On July 11, Putin and Erdogan had a telephone conversation. During the talks, they discussed the Ukrainian crisis. The office of the Turkish President reported that they also “discussed the situation in Syria and the creation of safe corridors for the export of grain in the Black Sea.”
