It’s official. From this one November 9, United Kingdom will not require a tourist visa from Colombian travelers who want to visit that country. This was confirmed this Tuesday from Bogotá by the British ambassador, George Hodgson.

The decision is known after the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petrothanked through Twitter this Monday night for the decision.
“This decision was approved after an extensive and rigorous process by different British authorities. With this announcement it becomes more accessible to all Colombians who want to discover its rich culture, its long history and its beautiful landscape,” said Hodgson.

Hodgson also reported that those who have paid for the process to apply for the visa, and have not yet provided their biometric data (ie fingerprints), may request a refund of the money.
