The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Francisco García, thanked “the collaboration and good reception of all the proposals that have been put on the table, as well as the commitment to work together and with a common objective, without looking at political colors.” . The mayor of Bullas and current president of the Commonwealth of Northwest Tourist Services, María Dolores Muñoz, was convinced that “the Jubilee Year 2024 will mark a before and after; “A true turning point for the Northwest to become better known and to establish a common tourism project that has continuity beyond this event and in which the magnificent resources of the different municipalities complement each other, enriching the offer of the destination.”
During the meeting, different aspects were addressed, such as the coordination and exchange of information of the different tourist offices, the creation of stamping points for the pilgrim’s credentials, and extending the cultural activities of the official programming of the Jubilee Year 2024 to the different municipalities. . In addition, the Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan granted to the Northwest Association of Tourist Services was addressed, which will allow the implementation of the common project, with more than three million euros of financing.
The main objective of the aforementioned plan is to promote the Northwest of the Region of Murcia as a sustainable rural destination, highlighting its cohesive identity and innovating in the development of new products based on its tradition, gastronomy and nature. This is, therefore, an important opportunity to advance the cohesion of the territory in terms of Tourism and promote this destination, which has consolidated resources and products, adding the launch of new ones, under a common brand and identity.
