Yesterday, Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly affirmed his country’s keenness to support Lebanon in light of the current global economic conditions and their repercussions on all countries.
The Egyptian Council of Ministers stated in a statement that this came during a meeting held by Madbouly with the Lebanese Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Al-Hajj, to discuss ways to support joint cooperation between Egypt and Lebanon in the agricultural sector, in the presence of the Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Mr. Al-Quseir. Madbouly said, according to the statement, that Cairo and Beirut have very close historical relations at all levels, pointing out the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in various fields of common interest.
Madbouly pointed out Egypt’s keenness to facilitate the entry of Lebanese exports into the Egyptian market, in line with the Lebanese government’s efforts to facilitate the flow of Egyptian exports to Lebanon of various goods, in addition to supporting the rates of trade exchange between the two countries in a manner that rises to the level of distinguished political relations between the two sides.
The statement stated that Al-Hajj, for his part, stressed the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and Lebanon and the importance of continuing close coordination between the two countries within the priority files in international frameworks in a way that serves the interests of the two countries.
He stressed his country’s deep appreciation for the Egyptian political leadership’s constant keenness to support Lebanon, which is highly appreciated by the Lebanese side.
He pointed out that there are many opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experiences between Cairo and Beirut in the field of agriculture in particular.
