Bernal, who this week shared a couple of emotional videos walking without support and doing muscle strengthening exercises, published this Friday a new audiovisual record in which he is seen kicking a soccer ball.
Egan’s ‘goal’
Through his Instagram account, the Colombian rider shared the video of one of his multidisciplinary work days in which he kicks a soccer ball.
Bernal, who has approached his process with a good attitude from the beginning, accompanied the recording with the audio of a recording of a goal by Lionel Messi that, in recent times, has become viral on social networks.

In the clip of the moment he is seen hitting the ball twice and opening his arms, as if celebrating a goal. It seemed so emotional that Egan kept walking, and one of the professionals who accompanies his recovery rushed to assist him.
The pedals of the champion
Barely 48 hours ago, the cyclist and his mother, Flor Marina Gómez, had already given signs that his rehab is beating all odds. An emotional video with what would be his first pedal strokes, just 22 days after the accident, he demonstrated it.

About a month of recovery
Egan Bernal’s collision with a bus, which was stopped on the roads of Cundinamarca, occurred on January 14 of this year. That same day, the reigning Giro d’Italia champion was admitted to the Sabana University Clinic. In that medical center he was operated five times.
The Colombian cyclist was discharged on January 28. Since then, he and his family have constantly reported on his progress in rehabilitation. However, it is still impossible to determine when he will return to the roads.
