Yes, daily events show that we are not the same, that we experience differences that depress, insult and make us feel powerless. The eternal struggle – and I say eternal, because it is forever – for the equality of human beings is one of the fairest battle fronts that has been opened in the Universal history.
People, beyond our individual differences, are equal. We are in terms of our rights, we must be in terms of our opportunitiesand of course, we are in terms of our obligations.
I congratulate my government for the promptness with which the four Americans kidnapped in Tamaulipas were located; the diligence shown accounts for its operational capacity. Good for them and good for Mexico.
But I can’t help but wonder, what would happen in this country of ours if that intelligence capacity and that operational diligence were deployed, at least in a quarter of the 44,124 disappeared in this administration?
Aren’t missing compatriots the same as Americans?
I flatly refuse to accept any difference; For this reason, perhaps the joy I feel for the location of the four Americans is to some extent suffocated by the sadness caused both by the death of two of them, and by the tens of thousands of missing brothers, lost in what seems incompetence –which I hope is not indifference and even less complicity– of our authorities.
Yeah. We are equal, we are the same despite our differences of race, culture, social or economic position; we are the same regardless of nationalities, ideologies or partisan loves.
We are the same, I am fully convinced of it, but it is not enough for me to know it, I want to feel it, breathe it, live it.
As Mexicans, by respecting each individuality, we can make the dream of equality that our heroes cherished come true.
Let’s not wait any longer, it’s time to put aside our confrontations and accept ourselves as we are, because despite our common history, goals and common regrets… we were not made in the same mold.
For Dignified and united Mexico Let’s make a pact, a pact of equality, respect and tolerance, a pact for a dignified and united Mexico.
Thank you.
