The unit treats groundwater using solar energy, to be used not only for irrigation but also for drinking.
The mobile desalination model aims to reduce salinity from more than a thousand parts per million, to less than two hundred parts per million.
The production capacity of the unit is 600 cubic meters per day, and desalination units can be placed in containers, making it a mobile system capable of reaching different areas, and it can be connected to a solar energy network sufficient to operate the unit, in addition to other services.
And he said Co-founder of Al-Shorbagy Water Purification Company, Muhammad Al-Shorbagy: “We were able to provide clean drinking water in remote areas that suffer from very great water poverty.”
He added, “As for the agricultural sector, we have succeeded in treating water in more than 35 farms.”
The lack of irrigation water and salinity is one of the climatic challenges facing Egypt, especially this year, knowing that it depends heavily on food imports, and desalination of its groundwater is ultimately aimed at alleviating the economic burdens and troubles.
