Delivery, from 700 million to just 90 thousand euros. Goodbye sanctions
The giants of take-away food are safe. There maxi fine against four delivery companies was reduced to a little more than a tip, considering the receipts. It evaporates – reads the Corriere della Sera – the fine of 733 million euros to the digital platforms of cyclists. After the appeal presented the fine has dropped to 90,000 euros for the companies in question: Foodinho-Glovo, Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat Italy. In exchange for the discount, the giants have pledged with the prosecutors to make a mighty effort of remediation of irregularities and return to legality propitiated precisely by the investigation of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Carabinieri of the Milan Labor Inspectorate Nucleus Command on this increasingly important market for everyday life in a pandemic.
The result – continues the Corriere – summarizes the “Social Report” of the Public Prosecutor, is therefore that “The action in the field of cyclists proved to be decisive as it helped to regulate, at least partially, a newly emerging working phenomenon”, for which “an organic regulation by the legislator is still urgent”, especially due to the jagged contractual framework. The supervisory authority will finish formalizing between today and tomorrow the notification of fines of 15,000 euros for each of the 6 managers qualified as “employers” in the 4 companies.
