“Primary prevention represents the key to reducing mortality from breast cancer. What we know is that it would be appropriate to screen all women over 45 with a mammogram every two years and in the case of women at high risk, therefore carriers of Brca1 and Brca2 mutations, to begin screening in a more early”. This was stated by Giuseppe Curigliano, professor of Medical Oncology at the State University of Milan and director of the Development of New Drugs for Innovative Therapies Division of the IEO, on the occasion of the national conference promoted by the Lombardy Region at Pirellone on the new frontiers of oncology research.
