China launched a new satellite into orbit to monitor natural resources from the Taiwan Satellite Launch Center in north China’s Shanxi Province on Sunday, according to the China Daily.
The satellite “ZY1-02E” was launched at 11:11 am (Beijing time) by the carrier rocket “Long March4-C”.
The satellite, developed by the Chinese Academy of Space Technology, will operate in solar synchronous orbit.
Another satellite, ZY1-02D, was launched into orbit on September 12, 2019.
The two natural resource monitoring satellites will form a network to meet the current need for remote sensing data, with medium solutions, in natural resource monitoring and study, mineral exploration and geological environment monitoring.
Qamran also provides services to sectors such as disaster reduction, environmental protection, transportation and agriculture.
This is the 403rd mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
