The issue of reducing the working day in Brazil has given us something to talk about. Since it was announced in May, hundreds of companies have shown interest in learning about and applying the 4-day work week methodology.
On August 30th, Reconnect Happiness at Work, in partnership with 4 Day Week Global and Boston College, disclosed the companies that will participate in the pilot project to adopt the new work model in the country. The companies have headquarters in São Paulo (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Belo Horizonte (MG), Campinas (SP) and Porto Alegre (RS). The segments are: health, legal, communication, technology, food and entertainment.

At the moment, 20 companies are confirmed, the number may increase in the next days. The pioneers are: Hospital Indianapolis; Editora Mol, Smart Duo, Thanks for sharing; Oxygen; Haze Shift – Innovation and Digital Transformation Consulting; GR Accounting Advice; Feed; Ab Aeterno; Soma Group; Brazil of screws; Innuvem Consulting; Inspire Technology; PN Visual Communication; Clementino & Teixeira; Plonge Consulting and Vockan. The list includes other companies, which at the moment did not authorize disclosure.
For Renata Rivetti, director of Reconnect Happiness at Work and official partner of 4 Day Week Brazil, the project demonstrates how much companies are adhering to new experiences in the corporate environment.
“This is a very important step towards revolutionize the world of work, enabling changes in performance within our positions, making the workday more productive and at the same time healthy”, he comments.
The objective of the 4-day week methodology is not simply to work one day less, but to redesign the way companies operate, which will be able to manage their time better, automating processes, delegating tasks and, above all, reviewing priorities during their routine. .
Now the companies will start the next stages of the project. The preparation and orientation process begins in September and will last for three months. During this period, companies continue in the 5-day week until they better define what their strategy will be, whether it will be Friday or another day chosen to be the day off, in addition to communicating with customers and other stakeholders, and carrying out the first quantitative survey and also the qualitative research conversations with FGV. The workload reduction should start between November and December and will last six months.
