RIA: the cars of Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense Ivanov had license plates for 6 million rubles
Deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Defense Timur Ivanov, arrested for bribes, drove luxury cars with “beautiful” license plates, the cost of which is estimated at millions of rubles.
According to reports, Ivanov had a Chevrolet Suburban SUV. From the databases “Autocode”, “Autoface” and other resources for pre-sale verification of cars, it follows that Chevrolet was assigned AAA series numbers in region 77. Moreover, until 2016, two more cars were registered with these numbers, Porsche Cayenne and VAZ-2107. It is known that the cost of a license plate of the AAA series of region 77 can reach 2.5-3 million rubles. On open sale there are numbers AA824A 77 for 2.4 million rubles, AA258A 77 for 2.6 million rubles, AA811A 77 for 2.8 million rubles.

Another of Ivanov’s cars, according to the tax return, was a Mercedes-Benz V-class SUV with MMM series numbers in region 77. Previously, the numbers were assigned to an Audi sedan, a Volkswagen SUV and a rare Mercedes. The price for such numbers with mirror numbers exceeds 4 million rubles. Region number M828MM 77 is on open sale for 4.2 million.
It is unknown whether the arrested deputy minister received these numbers for a fee or free of charge in 2015-2016.
Ivanov was found to have luxury real estate and a luxury car fleet
Together with his wife, the arrested Deputy Minister of Defense purchased a residential building with an area of more than 1.5 thousand square meters. Presumably, Ivanov owns a mansion in the classicist style with a park and a fountain in the Tver region worth approximately two billion rubles, as well as a mansion in Chisty Lane in Moscow, which was leased for 49 years. It was also reported about a mansion on Rublyovka worth a billion rubles.

In May it was reported that the court also seized two cars and a motorcycle belonging to Ivanov. We are talking about a German Mercedes-Benz V-class minivan and an American Chevrolet Suburban SUV, which Ivanov transferred to his wife. Ivanov transferred the MV Agusta motorcycle to his father in 2022. The cost of a 2017 Chevrolet, according to online resources, is 4.5 million rubles, and a 2023 model starts at 16 million rubles. In turn, the specified Mercedes brand of 2023 is estimated at 15 million rubles.
Journalists also found a rare ZiS-110 limousine from Ivanov, the cost of which is estimated at 11-18 million rubles. In addition, since 2016, Ivanov’s ex-wife has owned a Bentley Continental, Aston Martin, Hummer H2 and two Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

The lawyer admitted that Ivanov could return the seized property
As lawyer Eduard Isetsky explained, such a development of events is possible in two cases. The seizure of property is lifted when a sentence is passed and after it enters into legal force, then the court will separately indicate this in the text of the sentence, or the seizure can only be lifted by proving the lack of involvement of the accused in the seized property.
Also, the lawyer noted, the property of third parties, including spouses, other relatives and even acquaintances, may be seized in the case. In this case, the court will have to extend the arrest quarterly.
