Irish couple with 21-year age gap forced to move due to bullying
An Irish couple with a 21-year age difference had to move to another city because of bullying from colleagues. They talk about other sacrifices they have to make for love told in an interview with The Sun.
Mikayla Rowat and Niall Gill met in 2022 while working at the same construction company. “He was 21 years older, but I’d never felt such a strong connection with someone in my life,” said Rowat, who was 23 at the time.
When the man and woman began a relationship, they began to hide it. However, after four months, their colleagues found out about everything – the couple faced condemnation. According to Rowat, because of this, Gill withdrew into himself, quit, and after some time, dumped the girl. They reunited only after some time, deciding to overcome all fears together.

Then Rovat left the company after the man, and they moved to another city, where they found new jobs in different companies. However, as the lovers say, they still face criticism from relatives, friends and strangers.
Rowat and Gill emphasized that all the difficulties only strengthened their love. According to them, they want to prove to society that couples like them are absolutely normal. Rowat also admitted that Gill proposed to her and they will soon get married.
Earlier, it was reported that a Canadian woman married a Tunisian man 21 years her junior and lost close friends. “But our bond is more important than anything else. I love him and that’s all that matters,” she explained.
