Finalist in the last edition

Amenábar stressed that the winning work meets two requirements that, in his opinion, are basic. On the one hand, he explained, “it’s very coherent and delicate, both in the musical development and in the instrumentation.” On the other, “it explores in depth the expressive possibilities of what is narrated to us, which is why it contributes not only to emotional reinforcement, generally attributed to music, but also to a greater understanding of some of the passages in the short film.”
The well-known film director also emphasized the importance of this award, of which he assured that he did not know of a similar one. “I congratulate his promoters for promoting and encouraging such a vital section in the development of audiovisual works,” he insisted.
The winning soundtrack will accompany the short film ‘What you plant’, which was selected from a previous script competition in collaboration with the Escola Superior de Cinema I Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC). It is produced by the same with a team made up entirely of students and graduates of this center.
