Stevan Jelovac has lost his most important match. At 32, the long Serbian who had toured Europe and also played in Caserta did not make it, crushed by a stroke that had hit him in training. It was November 14, Jelovac was trying to return from a knee injury that had hit him at the beginning of his adventure with the Aek Athens, Greece. He collapsed on the parquet in training and never got up again. Immediately transported to the hospital, a few days ago the family decided to have him transported from the Greek capital to Belgrade, where Jelovac died today.

Born in Novi Sad, Serbia, on July 8, 1989, he began his career as a pro in 2008, strong at 208 centimeters by 110 kg. Since 2010 he had started touring Europe, landing in Caserta in 2012: he should have stayed there for two years, he left at the end of the first season. The peak in 2013-14, with 10 Euroleague appearances with the Lithuanians of Lietuvos Rytas, then three years in Spain with Zaragoza. He had signed with Aek Athens in the summer. Now all of Europe mourns him.
