Indonesian authorities have eased restrictions on foreign tourists, reducing the mandatory quarantine on arrival from seven days to five days. This is reported CNN Indonesia.
The new rules apply to fully vaccinated travelers, Luhut Binsar, coordinator of coronavirus infection control measures for Java and Bali, said. It is clarified that the period of isolation is reduced due to the fact that the incubation period of the omicron strain is about three days – it is this variant of the coronavirus that prevails in countries from which tourists arrive in Indonesia.
According to Binsar, the relief also applies to the island of Bali, which is popular with travelers – from February, a new phase of the restoration of international tourism begins at the resort.
Earlier in December, it was reported about a sharp reduction in the tourist flow to Bali due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the nine months of 2021, only 43 foreign travelers visited the island, compared to 6.3 million in the same period in 2019.
