In the midst of cancellations and postponements, the series Assassin’s Creed seems to increasingly become an important pillar of Ubisoft’s in-house production, which it currently has two games in development on the franchise, Kotaku reported in a report today.
Speaking of the postponement of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and the cancellation of Splinter Cell VR, Ghost Recon Frontline and two other games, Kotaku carries out an analysis of the current situation within Ubisoft, where it seems that in the midst of so many problems it remains, if nothing else, the consolation of an Assassin’s Creed still in shape.
Indeed two, apparently: reportedly, there are at least two projects underway regarding the franchise, identified with the code name Project Rift and Project Red. The first, reportedly, could be a standalone game focused on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is a kind of maxi-expansion that has become a separate title, perhaps smaller in size than a standard chapter.
The second is more complex: according to Kotaku it could be a new chapter set in Asia, but it is likely that it is instead a part of the overall Assassin’s Creed Infinity project, which represents the new “platform” developed by Ubisoft for the future of the series. As previously reported also by Jason Schreier, it should be a content of Assassin’s Creed Infinity actually set in Asia, perhaps in Japan, waiting to understand something more.
