The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority announced the formation of a committee to decide on requests from citizens disposing of housing grants under the legislation in force before October 2018, whether by sale or exchange with other citizens, in order to address these cases that took place before October 2, 2018 in accordance with the approved controls and in the public interest.
The Authority announced that the committee it formed to consider and decide on the requests of those disposing of housing grants will begin receiving applications at the Abu Dhabi Housing Center, starting yesterday until July 31, 2024.
Public interest
Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said: “The formation of a committee to decide on the requests of those disposing of housing grants came in line with the aspirations of the Abu Dhabi government to consider all matters that ensure achieving the public interest of society, stressing the importance of accelerating the inventory of applications of those disposing of housing grants and taking appropriate decisions.” regarding it, so that this file can then be closed in the required manner, permanently.
He stressed that the committee is dedicated to dealing with cases of disposal of housing grants that took place before October 2, 2018 only, while the provisions of the system and policies of the updated housing programs and housing benefits in Abu Dhabi are applied to new cases of disposal that took place after this date.
Requirements
The Authority stipulated that applications submitted to the committee made before October 2, 2018 must be accompanied by the sale or exchange contract, in addition to official proof of the financial consequences that were paid or received during the disposal process.
The following conditions are also required to submit applications for disposing of residential grants by buying and selling, namely: that the citizen owns residential land or a suitable alternative residence in the emirate, with an acknowledgment and pledge not to dispose of it and register it in the real estate registry as a residential grant, while not claiming another residential land grant or a housing grant. Or a home purchase loan. In addition to the written consent of the wife.
In the case of exchange with other citizens, the exchange requirements contained in the policies of the updated housing programs and housing benefits in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi are applied, in addition to written approval from the wife.
The Authority confirmed that the decisions of the committee deciding on the requests of those disposing of housing grants will be final, and no applications will be received after the deadline set by the Authority.
