The stealth gameplay of Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle was shown in action with a short video published by Bethesda and MachineGames, in which we see Indy distract a Nazi soldier and eliminate another using a hammer.
It’s about mechanics very similar to those seen in the Wolfenstein seriesclearly: inside some structure in the ice, Indiana throws an object to make one of the two guards move away from the other, then gets behind the latter and hits him violently.
Speaking of violence, we see a splash of blood when the hammer impacts the soldier’s head, but let’s imagine that the gore level present in the expected tie-in will be substantially lower than the BJ Blazkowicz saga, which from this point of view was rampant.
Finally some gameplay?
Although it’s very short, the gameplay video released today finally sheds some light on what’s to come the in-game action of Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, given that the Xbox Games Showcase trailer inevitably focused on the plot and atmosphere of this ambitious transposition.
Ourselves we didn’t hide some doubts precisely regarding the gameplay in our article with everything we know about Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, given the prudence of MachineGames and Bethesda in showing this aspect of the experience.
The hope is that more clips of this kind will be published over the next few weeks, perhaps waiting for an official gameplay presentation at Gamescom 2024, which can shed light on all the elements of the game that are still shrouded in mystery.
