Canadian hockey player Neftekhimik Dee said that beer is more popular than vodka in Russia
Canadian forward of Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik Jean-Sébastien Di compared the popularity of beer and vodka in Russia. He is quoted “Soviet sport”.
According to him, the foamy drink is more popular among his teammates. “I love Russian beer, it made me try a couple of delicious Russian dishes. I remember one particular soup, incredibly delicious. Borscht, for sure,” Dee said.
Last season, Dee played 45 matches in the regular championship of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The Canadian scored 10 goals and made six assists.
In May, American hockey player Brennan Menell, who received a Russian passport, named the most disgusting Russian dish. The athlete stated that he did not like the sprats at all.
