The international payment system Visa announced its readiness to comply with the sanctions against Russia, which Western countries announced against the backdrop of the operation in Donbass. The corresponding message is posted on site companies.
Visa is taking prompt action to ensure compliance with applicable sanctions and is prepared to comply with additional sanctions that may be imposed.
It also notes that Visa over the past few days “with deep sadness and disbelief watched the tragic events in Ukraine.”
Earlier, on March 1, the international payment system Mastercard announced the shutdown of some Russian banks that fell under sanctions. Mastercard cards issued by them will not work abroad and in foreign online stores. In Russia, they can be used without restrictions, since transactions within the country are processed by the National Payment Card System (NSPK), the operator of the Mir system.
