Trying to revise the Minsk agreements and reach a new agreement will be useless, since Ukraine will never go against the wishes of Washington, said Alexander Borodai, a State Duma deputy and former head of government of the unrecognized Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). In a conversation with Lenta.ru, he added that Ukraine is not a sovereign territory capable of making its own decisions.
On Saturday, February 12, seven years have passed since the signing of a document on a set of measures to implement the Minsk agreements. Despite a long time, they have not been executed by Ukraine. But Borodai believes that proposals to sign a new agreement that could solve old problems are now meaningless.
“And with whom to sign them? Neither Russia, nor the USA, nor NATO are the subjects of signing the agreements. The subjects are only Ukraine and the republics of Donbass. Signing something with Ukraine is useless, because at the moment it is just a colony controlled by the United States. The colony, which is actually no longer a sovereign territory, where NATO has placed its bases and continues to deploy them. What is the point of signing another agreement, realizing from the very beginning that it will not be implemented in the same way, ”said the deputy.

Borodai believes that Ukraine is no longer a country, but a territory that is artificially and unnaturally supported by the West as an instrument of blackmail against Russia. Such use of it, as he noted, has become especially relevant in the context of a virtual cold war between the United States and China, where Russia’s support for one side or the other can become decisive.
The Minsk Agreement is an agreement on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. On Monday, February 14, the State Duma of Russia will consider a bill on the recognition of the DNR and LNR. The speaker of the lower house of parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin, explained that Ukraine has not fulfilled the Minsk agreements for seven years, so a solution to this situation needs to be sought.
