Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva won first place in the short program of the Beijing Olympic team tournament. This was reported on Sunday, February 6, the newspaper “Sport-Express“.
For the rental, the 15-year-old Russian woman received 90.18 points. In second place was Japanese Wakaba Higuchi (74.73), in third was Canada’s Madeleine Skizas (69.60).
Thanks to Valieva’s victory, the ROC team came out on top in the Olympic team tournament.
In the next type of team tournament, a free program for men will take place, it will begin at 6:50 Moscow time.
Earlier, on February 5, it was reported that the short track team of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) did not reach the finals of the mixed relay at the Olympic Games. In the semifinals, the Russians with a score of 2 minutes. 49.61 sec. became third. However, after the race, the judges decided that the team had violated the rules in passing the baton and were disqualified. It is noted that the US team that won first place was also disqualified.
On the same day, skier Natalya Nepryaeva took second place in the skiathlon and brought the first medal to the ROC team at the Beijing Games.
Also on Saturday, Russian biathletes took third place in the mixed relay and brought the second medal to the national team. The victory was won by the Norwegian team, the second place was taken by athletes from France.
Olympics 2022 takes place February 4–20, the Paralympics — March 4–13. The games will be held in three clusters at once – in Beijing (hockey, figure skating, speed skating, curling), Zhangjiakou (biathlon, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, ski jumping) and Yanqing (alpine skiing, bobsleigh, skeleton and luge).
The final composition of the Russian national team included 212 athletes, including 103 women and 109 men.
