Covid in Italy, the peninsula it passes all in red and dark red in the updated ECDC map on the epidemiological situation Covid-19 in Europe, which continues to be based on notifications of positives in the last 14 days per 100 thousand inhabitants and on the percentage of positives out of the total tests carried out.
Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia are red; all other regions of our country are in dark red. In the previous map, only three regions resisted in yellow (Puglia, Molise and Sardinia). All of Europe is red or dark red, the bands that signal the greatest circulation of the Ssars-CoV-2, with the exception of Romania, almost all in yellow, except Bucharest, which is red, and the southern region of Oltenia, which is green, the only one in all Europe.
Romania experienced a very severe wave of Covid-19 in early autumn, which resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and which has been fought with closures and restrictions as vaccination rates are very low. The European Commission proposed some time ago to change the criteria with which the map is drawn up, by inserting the vaccination rates, but the recommendation has not yet been translated into practice.
